She does. Well, very rarely. And only for those whom I harbour MUCH love in my heart.

I have been reading Bakerella’s blog for about 3 years now, it’s one of the longest surviving on my blogroll (along with Neil Gaiman’s and Michael Ruhlman’s). She makes the most delicious looking baked goods, I swear I haven’t baked for so long because I entertained the (of course, ridiculous) notion that nothing I bake could ever be as beautiful.

A couple of weeks ago Brent and I were wandering around City Place, killing time before a movie, and walked into the kitchen lover’s mecca, Williams Sonoma. God, I love that store! I can never really afford anything in there, but it’s really a delight to browse. Whilst browsing, I discovered these:

And with two weeks to my lovely pal Mars’ birthday, I had to have them – they were too perfect. You can buy them here at Meri Meri’s website. Then came the decision of what kind of cupcakes to make? I decided on Bakerella’s Double Chocolate Zucchini Cupcakes with Chocolate Ganache and Goats Cheese frosting – I did however, end up switching out the goats cheese for neufchatel (cream cheese) for cost purposes; plus I was worried goats cheese would just be too much, it’s strong stuff you know!! :)

Well, I was lame and didn’t take photos, so until some fabbo person coughs up the pics from Mars’ Fancy Schmancy birthday, I will borrow Bakerella’s version, with all due credit of course; I don’t know that mine were quite as pretty, although the robots and spaceships surely helped!
