I made these delicious looking morsels for dinner last night
They were a great, relatively light dinner; I usually am not a fan of the turkey burger but after having a delectable one at Relish Burger Bar a couple of weeks ago, I decided to revisit them. I stepped outside of my normal burger-spice-realm with some Moroccan style spices and I think it worked pretty well! I grabbed regular paprika by mistake, but I really wish I hadn’t, I think the smoked paprika would have really brought them to the next level; oh well, next time!
Here’s the recipe for your enjoyment
12oz ground turkey (grass-fed, organic if you wish; I did)
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
2 tbsp low fat mayonnaise
2 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 garlic clove crushed
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp fresh black pepper
2 slices sharp white cheddar cheese
4 poppy-seed Kaiser rolls
Redleaf lettuce
6 slices of avocado (hass)
Combine all ingredients up till the pepper in a bowl and refrigerate for an hour. (if you don’t have the time, don’t worry – they’ll just be a bit soggy going onto the grill; they’ll firm up while cooking). Toast rolls for a couple minutes (or to your liking) then melt cheese onto bun, or meat if you are grilling on a bbq – I used the Panini press so had to use the bun for melting!
Serve. Eat. Enjoy with a brew – a Starr Hill Northern Lights IPA would go down nicely, or maybe a Victory Prima Pils.
