This is the 4th or 5th BrewDog offering I’ve tried, and frankly, I’ve really liked them all so far; yes, even Dogma which a lot of others are not too fond of.
This was an abomination. A dismal failure. Sorry James and Martin, I wish I could say otherwise; but this is by far the worst (non-macro) beer I’ve had all year.
It pours a muddy brackish-gold colour into the glass, much haziness. Kind of looks like dirty dishwater, with no real head to speak of.
The smell, oh lord the smell! PEAT!, tobacco, floor cleaner, PEAT!, roller skate boot leather (yes, very specifically roller skates), PEAT! and piney hops… did I mention PEAT!?! Good grief, the PEAT!!
Taste is not a heck of a lot better. Crushed tobacco, peaty (!!) scotch, something metallic and a tonne of piney hops dominate; unfortunately not backed up with much in the way of malt at all. Mouth feel is watery and thin, lacking in carbonation.
Fortunately, Brent likes peaty scotch and was able to finish almost the rest of the glass; there was still about 2 oz left in a glass on the coffee table when I got up this morning, so I guess even he couldn’t finish it.
Stay away from this one, unless you want to split it between 12 of your worst enemies.

Did you get this at BX?
No, it was the last of Brent's Houston smuggling haul (Speck's Liquor). Oaktreewines.com has it though; it's $9.99 for a 120z!
