What a treat! My “Liquor correspondent” Brent joins us this A.M. for a write up on one of Rogue Brewery’s liquor offerings
If you missed his review over on his blog of Rogue’s Whiskey, you can catch up on it here!______________________________________________________________
Pink Champagne? White Zin? No no no, this is something special, something from the west. Wild, exciting, a "Rogue" adventure.
Yes, I am building the drama, however it is not for naught. It is a rare breed I hold in my hands.
Ok, so last year our friends went to Oregon and the beer lovers they are, they visited Rogue Brewery (yes I was jealous!). They were kind enough to bring us back a bottle of Rogue Pink Spruce Gin, seasoned in Pinot Barrels. I like a good gin, Bombay usually, or for a sipping gin I go with Hendricks, so spicy and nice. Well this one is another breed; pink in color and in nature. Grapefruit and sweet sugary candy coming through, a bit like "lick’m aide" candy or sweet tarts; nothing I’d expect. I’d expect pine, juniper and dried flowers. Nonetheless, this is what I’ve got, crazy right?!
Mmm…tastes smooth, light, with a bit of wine on the mouth, and none of the harshness nor medicinal flavors of common gin. No tonic added, but I swear I can taste quinine – this is lovely. It’s unique, smooth, requires NO MIXERS, and over a few ice cubes makes a great summer drink.
Yes Rogue, I’ll have your "Yellow Snow IPA" another day, as it’s time for gin and gin alone.
Cheers! ~~B

Sounds fabulous!
Good review! I was tempted to give this a spin while were in Portland, I guess I should have…
Their Gin is excellent. Their rum tastes like gasoline.
